When my wife and I bought our first home, I was on top of the world. We'd dreamed about this moment for years — and the day we got the keys, it felt like everything we'd worked for had finally arrived.

Then reality set in. Within the first few weeks I was drowning in questions I had no answers to. Who trims the trees? I need someone to spray for bugs. The gutters need to be added. There's caulking coming apart on the outside of the house — what kind do I even use? How do I operate the AC unit, and where do I find the manual? I dug through our home purchase documents so many times to enroll the kids in school that I lost count. Where do I pay HOA dues? How do utilities get set up? Which day does the garbage run? And when I finally needed my homeowner's insurance — the document I thought I'd saved was nowhere to be found.

I wasn't overwhelmed by the big things. I was overwhelmed by the hundred small things — each one manageable on its own, but all of them hitting at once with no system to catch them. I needed one place. One central hub where every important piece of information about my home lived — warranties, appliances, documents, contractors, due dates, utility providers, all of it — ready the moment I needed it.

That place didn't exist. So I built it.

I'm Ross, and I created HomesteadHQ because I needed it. Not because I spotted a market opportunity — because I was a new homeowner who was constantly scrambling, and I knew I couldn't be the only one. I built it for every property owner who has too much on their plate, too many documents scattered across too many places, and too many expiration dates slipping past them unnoticed.
